Hourly Rate: £50–£60 | Part-Time/Full-Time | Hybrid Working (1–2 Days Office-Based in Oxfordshire)
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Lawyer to lead a specialist legal team focusing on Contracts and Conveyancing. This senior-level opportunity combines expert legal practice with leadership and strategic influence.
The Role
You will serve as a lead legal advisor across a significant portfolio of high-value and complex contractual and property-related matters. With support from the Head of Law, you will provide line management, guidance, and development to a team of lawyers, paralegals, and assistants. Your role will involve advising senior officers, attending court or tribunals as required, and ensuring legal risks are managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on complex matters relating to contracts and conveyancing.
- Manage and develop a small legal team, overseeing performance and fostering professional growth.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and stakeholders to support strategic initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of professional practice and compliance.
- Support organisational improvement through training, legal briefings, and process development.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer with a current practising certificate.
- Proven expertise in contracts and conveyancing law, ideally within a public sector or complex organisational setting.
- Demonstrated experience in legal team leadership or supervision.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities under pressure.
Working Pattern
This role offers a hybrid work model with 1–2 days per week in the office based in Oxfordshire. Flexible working arrangements are considered.
