Purpose of the Role
A leading corporate practice is seeking to grow its Financial Services M&A offering by appointing a Managing Associate (6+ PQE). Following sustained success and an increase in high-value, strategically important mandates, the team is expanding to support continued growth.
This role offers the opportunity to take a central position in delivering major transactions, developing client relationships, and contributing to the strategic development of the practice. You will support partners, lead key workstreams, and be encouraged to play an active role in business development, helping to grow both existing and new client relationships within the wider financial services sector.

The Corporate team is Tier 1–rated for upper mid-market transactions and is recognised as a leader across key sectors including financial services, retail & consumer, real estate, energy & infrastructure and healthcare. The team delivers more than 200 deals annually across 40+ jurisdictions.

Clients include leading UK and international banks, building societies, mutuals, fintechs, investment and asset managers, financial markets infrastructure providers, digital assets and payments platforms, private capital firms, non-bank lenders, brokers and insurers.
Your Areas of Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- Strong experience in financial services–focused M&A or strategic transactions involving institutional clients
- Commercial mindset with the ability to provide solutions-focused advice
- Self-motivated and flexible, with a willingness to take ownership of workstreams
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving transactional team
- Ability to collaborate with specialists across different practice areas, UK-wide and internationally
- Willingness to take part in business development, including supporting long-term client relationships
