Locum Adult Social Care Solicitor (Remote | Part-Time Considered)
Pay: £43.65 – £52.38 per hour (PAYE)
Contract: ASAP start – until 31st December 2025
Location: Predominantly remote (occasional office attendance may be required)
We are seeking an experienced Locum Adult Social Care Solicitor to join a well-regarded local authority legal team. The ideal candidate will be confident in managing a busy caseload with minimal supervision and able to provide timely, practical legal advice across a wide range of Adult Social Care matters.Key Responsibilities:
- Represent the authority in Court of Protection proceedings
- Provide legal advice on:
- Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
- Ordinary residence disputes
- Funding and charging disagreements
- Duties under the Care Act 2014
- Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act matters
- Drafting and reviewing relevant legal documentation
- Advising officers and stakeholders within the local authority on complex ASC issues
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor (or Barrister/FILEX) with a current practising certificate
- Strong experience in local authority adult social care law
- Ability to work independently and handle urgent matters confidently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working Pattern:
- Part-time applicants are welcomed (ideally 4 days per week)
- Remote working is the norm, with minimal in-office presence if needed
