The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employee Incentives Lawyer to join a highly regarded and specialist team advising on the full spectrum of remuneration structures and incentive arrangements. This role offers the chance to work at the forefront of executive compensation, employee benefits, and transactional support within a collaborative, multi-office environment.
The Team
You will join a dedicated group of experts focusing on the design, implementation, and operation of employee incentive plans. The team advises a diverse client base ranging from owner-managed businesses to multinational organisations, delivering strategic guidance on both standalone advisory matters and complex corporate transactions.
Key areas of expertise include:
- Executive and employee incentive plan design and implementation
- Employee benefit trusts
- Executive tax planning, including internationally mobile employees
- Corporate governance, regulatory, and compliance matters
- Transactional support on private equity deals, M&A, flotations, and restructurings
The Role
This is a varied position combining advisory and transactional work. You will:
- Advise on tax-advantaged and non-tax-advantaged share schemes (e.g. EMI, CSOP, LTIPs, growth shares, JSOPs)
- Draft plan documentation and employee communications
- Provide corporate and tax advice on implementation of incentive arrangements
- Support on public and private M&A transactions
- Manage your own matters with appropriate senior support
- Collaborate on complex, high-value projects across teams and offices
- Contribute to business development and client relationship management
Candidate Profile
- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years’ PQE
- Experience in employee incentives, share schemes, or related tax/corporate work (law firm or accountancy background)
- Exposure to both public and private company matters
- Strong technical knowledge with the ability to deliver clear, practical advice
- Proven ability to manage workload independently while working collaboratively
- Interest in mentoring and developing junior team members
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach to client engagement
Working Environment
