A well-established and highly respected Top 200 Law Firm is seeking a dedicated and compassionate legal professional to join its Court of Protection team. This firm is one of the oldest in the UK and continues to provide expert legal and wealth management services across the region.

The Role
This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest or background in Court of Protection matters. The successful candidate will play a key part in supporting vulnerable individuals and their representatives, with responsibilities including:

  • Opening new files and handling initial client enquiries
  • Drafting and submitting Deputyship applications
  • Corresponding with the Court of Protection and relevant third parties
  • Visiting clients and liaising with Deputies, Attorneys, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinating with care homes, family members, and professionals such as Social Workers
  • Managing clients’ day-to-day financial and personal affairs
  • Maintaining accurate records, including financial documentation and weekly registers
  • Assisting with annual reporting requirements

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required, as the role involves attending off-site appointments.

You will also contribute to the business’s wider success by supporting marketing efforts and cross-department referrals.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience working in a legal setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Full IT literacy and accurate word processing skills
  • A clear understanding of confidentiality and data protection

Desirable:

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive
  • Experience with Private Client work or Court of Protection cases
  • Familiarity with SOS Connect or similar case management systems
