The Opportunity
A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Construction Disputes Lawyer (6+ PQE) to join its top-tier Construction & Engineering disputes practice in London.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-value construction and infrastructure disputes across the UK and internationally, advising major contractors, developers, sponsors, funders and government bodies.
You will work closely with market-leading partners and a highly regarded disputes team on complex matters across the construction, infrastructure and energy sectors.
The Team
The construction disputes practice is recognised globally for its work on complex infrastructure and engineering disputes.
The team advises clients across the full lifecycle of construction and engineering projects, including:
- Infrastructure and transport projects
- Energy and utilities developments
- Commercial and residential developments
- Industrial and engineering projects
- Large-scale international construction programmes
Clients include major contractors, project sponsors, developers, lenders and government organisations involved in high-profile infrastructure and energy projects.
The team regularly works alongside colleagues across energy, projects, real estate and finance teams, delivering integrated advice on complex project matters.
Key Responsibilities
You will advise clients on a wide range of construction dispute resolution matters, including:
- Advising on construction and engineering disputes
- Acting on disputes arising under JCT, NEC and bespoke construction contracts
- Handling adjudication, arbitration, litigation and mediation
- Advising on dispute avoidance and project risk management
- Supporting clients on live project problem-solving
- Developing and implementing dispute resolution strategies
- Working closely with clients across construction, infrastructure and energy sectors
- Supervising junior lawyers and supporting team development
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Qualified solicitor with 6+ years PQE
- Strong experience in construction dispute resolution
- Experience advising on disputes involving major construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong client management and communication skills
- Excellent organisational and drafting skills
Desirable
- Experience handling adjudication or arbitration proceedings
- Exposure to energy or infrastructure projects
- Experience working with contractors, developers or project sponsors
