An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Legal Director (8+ PQE) to join a highly respected Infrastructure, Projects & Energy (IPE) team in Manchester. This role offers the chance to lead on high-profile, innovative projects across the energy, transport, and social infrastructure sectors, while playing a key role in shaping the team’s strategic direction and mentoring junior lawyers.
The Role
As Legal Director, you will:
- Advise clients on complex commercial and project finance matters across energy, utilities, transport, and infrastructure sectors.
- Manage a varied caseload involving major UK and international transactions.
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, oversee transaction processes, and ensure delivery of high-quality client service.
- Contribute to business development initiatives, networking events, and client training.
- Lead and develop junior members of the team while helping to define future growth strategies.
The Team
This is one of the most established multi-disciplinary IPE teams in the market, advising public and private sector clients on landmark projects in areas such as water, renewable energy, healthcare, education, and transport. The team works closely with major developers, funds, utilities, and government bodies, with work frequently appearing in national and international headlines.
About You
- Qualified Solicitor with 8+ years’ PQE in infrastructure, projects, energy, or transport law.
- Strong experience managing complex, multi-party transactions.
- Commercial and client-focused, with a proven record of delivering results.
- Skilled in team leadership, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
- Confident networker with enthusiasm for business development.
